This data set is based on Xinjiang, a typical arid area in China, and uses the weather driven data of the model of merra, era interim and CFSR to drive the AEM of the arid area ecosystem. The change characteristics and spatial distribution data set of the net primary productivity (NPP) of the arid area ecosystem in Xinjiang from 2000 to 2014 are simulated. The spatial range of the study area is 34.3 ° – 49.5 ° n, 73.5 ° – 96.3 ° E. The spatial resolution is 50km, and the geographical coordinate system is wgs1984.
The dataset includes Xinjiang 2000-2014 NPP grid map (merra, era interim and CFSR).

The data driving the AEM model mainly include meteorological data, topographic data, soil texture data, vegetation functional type map of Xinjiang and CO2 concentration, among which the meteorological data are from the Mera reanalysis data of NASA, the CFSR reanalysis data of NCEP and the era interim reanalysis data of ecmpc.
The soil data needed for the model mainly include soil sand content, soil clay content, soil silt content and soil pH value. The data is derived from the version 1.2 global soil dataset.
The functional type map of vegetation in Xinjiang comes from the 1:1 million vegetation map of China.
The terrain data input by the model mainly includes slope, aspect and elevation data. The elevation data comes from 30m global elevation data set and version 2 global digital elevation data set.
The CO2 concentration data required for the model are derived from the global annual average concentration data observed at Mauna Loa Observatory in the United States (http://co2now.org).
