In December 2011, seawater samples were collected from 10 stations near Great Wall Bay and adelei bay at Great Wall Station, Antarctica. The filtered water samples were analyzed by automatic nutrient analyzer to obtain nutrient data. Marine nutrients, including active silicate, active phosphate, nitrate, nitrite and ammonium, are the most important mineral salts that affect phytoplankton production and are absorbed by phytoplankton. Nutrients generally refer to inorganic nitrogen, phosphorus and silicon in seawater.
